![]() Speaking of “people” Josh is not the only ghost in this game, you will come across many more that you will need to interact with. I know that some people like their plots to be more forcefully told to them, but I really do love this kind of thing as I think that it is a lot of fun to explore and find out more about what happened here and the various people who called this place home. ![]() Like many other walking indie style sims, Ghost on the Shore will greatly expand the lore and the story of the game with you finding journals, wiring in your own journal, and even sketching things too. The two have some excellent back and forth and there is a lot of heart and humor to this which thanks to the voice acting really does make you more invested in what is going on. To start with, we get a lot of banter between Riley and Josh which is superb and helps develop their characters. One of the things that I really think is neat about Ghost on the Shore is the way that the story unfolds. Riley along with Josh in her head, set out on an adventure to try and figure out what happened to all of the people here. Riley is “possessed” by a ghost called, Josh, Josh is Scottish and he is not a bad spirit at all. She is on this strange seemingly abandoned island where there are no signs of life! There may be no signs of “life” however, there is plenty of afterlife here. In Ghost on the Shore, we play as Riley, Riley is a young British girl who has found herself in a very strange place. Man, how times have changed, I cannot get enough of character and story driven games like this one and that is why I wanted to take a closer look at it today. If you had asked me about 10 to 15 years ago if “walking sim” style games would be something that I ever would be interested in I would have laughed at you. ![]() It does appear that it is going to be released during the first quarter of the year, but as with all indie games, that date is certainly not set in stone. Ghost on the Shore is an indie walking sim that as I write this still does not have a concrete release date.
